Lars (Chris Maus) met Sven (Richard Dobyns) in 1999, and soon were lighting up the dance floors around Annapolis, Baltimore, Frederick, Northern Virginia, and Ocean City with “The Jokers”. They have since been involved various projects (together and separate) but always discussed the idea of putting together a trio. As the ball dropped on 2015 they began planning to make this idea a reality. Teaming up with brother Vigo (Bert Race) they formed The Johanssens. With a bucket of crowd favorites that vary from SRV to Kool and The Gang, from The Black Keys to Johnny Cash, and from James Brown to Elton John; they are back creating smiles and happy feet. All of the band members have day-jobs tied to defending this nation (a defense contract recruiter; a retired navy pilot now contractor; and a navy aerospace engineer) so the band has a soft heart for federal defense and veteran causes.

So party people - eat your Wheaties, hydrate well, lace up your dancing shoes, and come on out to see The Johanssens!
